2016 Band Performance Tour Schedule

The 2016 Performing Tour of the Elementary/Middle Schools that feed into Tolton Catholic will take place on Thursday December 1, 2016.  Here is the schedule of performances for the day.

07:30 AM - Depart TCHS

08:15 AM - Arrival at St. Brendan (Mexico)

09:00 AM - Performance at St. Brendan

10:45 AM - Arrival at St. Pius X (Moberly)

11:00 AM - Performance at St. Pius X

12:15 PM - Lunch in Columbia (Location TBD)

01:15 PM - Arrival at OLLIS (Columbia)

01:30 PM - Performance at OLLIS

03:00 PM - Arrival at TCHS for Final Bell Dismissal

Christmas Decorations

The Band/Choir room started looking festive today as we put together two Christmas trees which will eventually make their way to the commons for our concert in December.

The Blazer Band also created numerous snowflakes to adorn the main window of the room.

Thanksgiving Mass

Our Praise Team has several talented musicians including flutes, clarinets, trumpets, guitarists and piano to accompany our singers.

Serena Berrey Signs With Drury

Congratulations to Senior Spirit of Tolton Singers member, Serena Berrey for signing with Drury University (Springfiled) to play golf and sing with the Drury Chamber Choir.

KOMU Christmas Special Schedule

The KOMU Christmas Special of area high school choirs will start airing in December.  The Spirit of Tolton Singers' performance will air on the following dates and times on KOMU Channel 8:

Selected to All-District Honorable Mention Band

Congratulations to Junior Blazer Band member, Nic Cortez for being selected to the 2016 NEMO All-District Honorable Mention Band.  The band will have their clinic and concert on January 10, 2017 at the Moberly High School Performing Arts Center.

New Choir Stoles

Our music department is constantly working to upgrade our equipment and the Spirit of Tolton Singers are pleased to announce that their new choir stoles have arrived.  The stoles were handcrafted by Gaspard Inc, out of Brookfield, Wisconsin.  The light blue with white trim stoles now complete the look of our robes and will make their first public appearance at our Christmas Concert on December 13th at 7pm in the Tolton Catholic High School Commons.

2016 NEMO All-District Choir

On Saturday, November 5th, 2016, two members of the Spirit of Tolton Singers, Nathan Holtmeyer and Serena Berrey, participated in the NEMO All-District Choir Concert and Clinic held at Moberly High School.  The all day clinic prepared the students for that night's concert.  This year's conductor and clinician of the 11/12 choir was Dr. Peter A. Eklund.  Dr. Eklund serves as the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he heads the Masters and Doctoral choral conducting programs and conducts the flagship mixed choral singers - University Singers, and conducts the nationally renowned Varsity Men's Chorus.  

Selections for this year's concert included: Song of Triumph by Dale Grotenhuis, Exultate justi in Domino by da Viadana, Baba Yetu by Christopher Tin, Lullaby by Daniel Elder, and Praise His Holy Name by Keith Hampton.

KOMU Choral Special

The Spirit of Tolton Singers participated today in the Annual KOMU High School Choral Christmas Program which will be aired later on the station.  The filming took place in the Historic Missouri Theatre located on the grounds of the University of Missouri.  The choir sang "Praise His Holy Name" one of the selections that they sang at their concert last week at the All-Saints Day Mass yesterday.  Once broadcasting schedules have been finalized, we will pass along when the special will air on KOMU.

All-Saints Day Mass

In observance of All-Saints Day, the students, faculty and staff came together to celebrate in school wide mass with Bishop John R. Gaydos.  The music portion of the mass was led by the Praise Team sponsored by Tri-M Music Honor Society and also featured a special performance by the Spirit of Tolton Singers.  It was a wonderful service and a great way to celebrate the day.
